I will be selling books at the VFW Michigan Mid-Winter Conference at the Radisson Hotel In Kalamazoo on 1/27/12 from 8am – 4pm and 01/28/12 from 8am till 5pm. UPDATE FEB 18, 2012 Today I was blessed by Channel 6 News with an interview by Chivon Klopfer regarding my book. The interview will be aired tonight at 6pm and 11pm. I would like to say, Chivon and her camera man Tim were very professional and caring. They both took the time to make sure I was at ease and really listened to what I had to say. I greatly appreciate the time and sensitivity they showed not only me but my family as well. UPDATE FEB 21, 2012 On this day I was blessed/supported by a wonderful women named Jocelyn who is not only an Author in her own right but a wonderful, caring wife of a soldier. She honored me on her blog discussing Operation: Military Resources and how it can help military families. MAR 2-3, 2012 I will be at the Military Spouse Summit in Arlington, VA. I am very excited to be able to go; this will be a great educational weekend filled with great speakers and lots of resources for military spouses/families. I hope some of you will stop by my table on MAR 3rd and let me know what you think about not only my book but my website too. I look forward to meeting you all.

APRIL 16, Army Wife Network Radio, on air interview at 9pm. UPDATE: I had my interview with Paula Swanson and I believe everything went well. I would like to say what a wonderful person she is, very warm and inviting person to talk to. All of the ladies at Army Wife Network are doing a great job. APRIL 18, I will be selling and signing books at the Veteran Resource Summit, hosted by VETBIZ CENTRAL at National Guard Armory in Flint, Michigan. UPDATE: Great event and met lots of great people. Great Job Matt, looking forward to seeing you at the Jun and Sep event.

FIRST WEEK OF MAY, MY FIRST WEEKLY ARTICLE IN STAR & STRIPES CALLED “SURVIVOR GUIDE” COMES OUT….
MAY 9th: Phone interview with Michelle Strausbaugh with National Ladies VFW Magazine. Michelle was very friendly and easy to speak with, I look forward to her article about the book in JULY/AUG issue.
MAY 14th: Meeting with Gary Brown’s office and the Detroit City Council Taskforce for Military and Veterans Affairs. UPDATE: Mr. Brown and his team are wonderful and really work hard to find resource for miltiary veterans they welcomed me and what I had to offer to the table. Met alot of other wonderful people and hope to work with them in the future.
MAY 17th: I will possibly be at the Veterans Resource Fair at Grand Rapids Community College from 10-4pm. Signing and selling books.
MAY 18th: Meeting with Jim Nash with the Tri-County Oakland County Commission District 15 meeting in Southfield at 10am. UPDATE: Meet alot of great people working hard to get assistance out for the veteran community.
MAY 23rd: Signing and Selling Books at the Capital Area Stand Down for Homeless Veterans sponsored by Volunteers of America 10am – 2pm at Adado-Riverfront Park (west) on N. Grand River Avenue in Lansing, MI UPDATE: What a great event; Renee Jones and her team set up a great event, that flowed smoothly and professionally. They had a great turn out. I had lots of fun talking to her team and meeting all the participants. GREAT JOB VOA!!!
MAY 26th: Signing and selling books at the Welcome Home Celebration for returning combat Veterans of OEF, OIF and OND sponsored by VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System and Genesee County Parks at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad in Flint, MI 11am – 2pm. UPDATE: Had a great time, meet alot of great people.
JUNE 7th: Speaking at the veterans department at the Volunteers of America in town down Lansing, Michigan.
JULY 20th: My weekly article with Stars & Stars called “Survivor Guide” has been picked up and will know run weekly in the United Kingdom….SWEET!!
JULY 27th: I will be at the Lansing Lugnuts “Salute to the Armed Forces” event with veterans from Davenport College for meet and greet along with book signing, answering any questions their veterans may have and enjoying the company and game. Davenport College is hosting a family night out for the veterans that attend their college and asked me to join them. I am looking forward to the event, veterans and the great team at Davenport College.
AUG 20th: I had the pleasure to be on the phone for an interview with Richie Laxton for his radio talk show. You can view it at http://christiantalkthatrocks.net. And all the other great work that he does.
AUG 22nd: VetBiz workshop at LCC in Lansing, MI. I will be attending this awesome work shop for the valuable information it will be giving and also selling books. UPDATE: All I can say is WOW….if you ever have the opportunity to attend one of these, you must go. What a great resource and very much worth attending!
SEP 7, 2012: Meeting with James Bender, Director of Military & Veterans Affairs with Lansing Community College for upcoming events and book signing. Stay posted!!
SEPT 11, 2012: I will be at the Annual Ft. Belvoir Officer’s Club Super Information Fair at the Mount Vernon Room from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to sell and sign books. Hope to see you all! OCT 6 & 7th, 2012: Fort Belvoirs Oktoberfest Carnival, hosted by Belvoir Enlisted Spouses Club (BOSC). There will be over 50,000 guests and is open to the public. BOSC has invited me back to be a vendor and sign books, this trip is pending….
OCT 10th, 2012: Meeting with Mr. Jason Allen, Senior Deputy Director for Veterans Affairs with the State of Michigan.
NOV 4, 2012: I will be attending the Military Spouses of Michigan 1st Annual brunch to be held at the Songbird Cafe in Ann Arbor, MI (location: 2707 Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor 48105). These brunches will be held the first Sunday of every month at different locations around Michigan. December 2nd will be in Detroit with JAN in Lansing. From noon – 2pm. NOV 6, 2012: If I can get back in time from Grand Rapids, my family and I plan on attending Military Family Fun Night at Edru Skate-A-Rama for a fun night with other military families. This event is for ALL branches of military regardless of duty status. This is a FREE event and you must be registered by OCT 30th. Event is from 6-8pm and admission, skate rental, pizza/pop, activites is provided by the ANG and 4-H Program. NOV 8/9, 2012: I will be signing and selling books at the Veteran & Military Service Workshop from 10am-noon at the LCC Main Campus building. This event is for current active duty military, Reserve/Guard, Veteran, Military Spouse/Dependent. At this event you will recieve valuable information to assist you as you work toward your educational goals. Key individuals will be on hand to answer some of your questions about benefits and opportunities at LCC. Hear about the LCC Student Veterans Association Club and how you can network with other currently active military, veterans, spouses, reservists/guardsmen attending LCC. NOV 12th: Lansing Community College, I was honored to be asked by the Veteran Student Association of LCC to be apart of their viewing and panel of speakers for the movie “Coming Home” being held for military families 6:30-9:00pm. This was an awesome movie, that needs to be viewed by more families. Very raw, emotional and to the point. This was an awesome experience and I was honored to attend.
NOV 15, 2012: I will be speaking, signing and selling books at the Military Veterans, Friends & Family ERG of Compuware Corporation from noon-2pm. NOV 28th: FIrst round table meeting with Michigan Radio, which was held at the 701 VFW in Lansing, Michigan. The meeting included myself, and 4 other military spouses regarding issues for military families. Stay tuned for update on when meeting with be posted.
DECEMBER: I will be taking this month off from traveling to focus on updating my website, creating a business facebook and taking care of all the other business stuff that has been pushed to the side lately.
